| Liz Yelling advocates Active at Altitude!!
Liz Yelling, GB elite women's marathon runner and Athens Olympian advocates Active at Altitude as a residential training centre for endurance athletes. In March 2006 Liz won a magnificent bronze medal after a brilliant performance in the women's marathon in the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Liz has used altitude training as an essential and integral part of her training programme for a number of years.
Liz's husband, Martin Yelling, an elite level GB duathlete and triathlete and former international runner (2002 & 2003 British Pro Duathlon Champion) is also a keen advocate of altitude training.
The concept for Active at Altitude was partly inspired by an article that Liz wrote in the May 2005 issue of Running Fitness (a UK running magazine - Liz is the Women's Editor) about training in Boulder in preparation for the World Cross Country Championships and London Marathon. As Liz so accurately described it, Boulder is a "truly inspirational place to run, ....fantastic trails with stunning scenery."
Liz and Martin add, "We are both really keen to support Terry and Jacqui in their creation of a centre for endurance athletes where they can go and train in a home from home environment within the supportive, professional and stunning Active at Altitude facility and the Boulder environs. It doesn't matter what level of fitness or performance you are, Active at Altitude is a great place to focus, train hard, unwind and enjoy the outdoors. We'll be recommending it to all our friends"
