| Team USA Tri-moms train at Active at Altitude!
At the end of July 2007 we were fortunate to have two inspirational Team USA triathletes come and enjoy a training weekend at Active at Altitude! Soon after their weekend here, Kathleen won the prestigious Tri for the Cure event, winning by the huge margin of 3 minutes! Both Kathleen Allen and Julia Purring ton qualified this year for the ITU World Championships Olympic distance event in Germany September 2007. Sadly Kathleen didn't make it to Germany - she had a major road bike accident shortly before she was due to leave- thankfully she is recovering well - I have no doubt that she will be back training as soon as possible. Julia did go to Germany and stormed to a brilliant 30th in her age group - a fantastic result for her first International race! Read what Kathleen and Julia thought of their stay with us below:

Probably the most important aspect of my training is my ability to listen to my body. Yes, I have a coach and he schedules workouts but I also have to know when my body is ready to push harder, go faster or when my body needs to rest and recover. Unlike traditional "training camps" where there is a group that follows the same workout schedule, Active at Altitude is "a-la-carte" training. You can do as much or as little as you like and you can cater the training you choose to do based on your own abilities and your body's strengths and limitations. At the end of the day once the training is |
done, Active at Altitude provide a home away from home type experience.
Terry and Jacqui provided a very personal environment and have become my friends. Their facility and concept are truly unique and will become a training mecca. The weekend at Active at Altitude boosted my performance capacity and enabled me to win the Tri for the Cure event. I will be returning to Active at Altitude for another intense training weekend next season.

Our weekend of training at Active at Altitude has proved to be one of the best and most productive training sessions of my career. Terry and Jacqui made sure that we were well supported nutritionally and gave us direction on some great areas to train. Terry’s advice and coaching on my running and mental training have been invaluable. I look forward to making at least yearly trips to Active at Altitude. THANKS TERRY!
