Triathlon / Duathlon

Active at Altitude provides a base in an area that is truly a hot bed for triathlons and duathlons. You only have to look at the event calendar to see how popular multi-sport events are here! Also check out the number of road cyclists in tri gear on their bikes pounding along the US Highway 36 going north from Boulder – this environment is perfect for tri / duathlon training and events!

To give you another example of how popular this area is for triathlon / duathlon, the magazine Inside Triathlon is based in Boulder as well. The roads, the trails and the swimming facilities are all at altitude and thus training for all three events here maximizes the beneficial physiological effects. It is no wonder that Boulder and the surrounding area is recognized as one of the best sports areas anywhere in the world.

The local Estes Park Aquatic Center (a short drive less than 10 minutes away) has a 25m pool that can be extended to 33m with the removal of the diving boom. The center gives you an opportunity to swim at 7,500 feet - not an everyday experience!

We have covered and secure storage areas for bikes as well as a covered workshop area for maintenance when required. Boulder has many bike shops for any spares or replacement parts you may require.

Many triathletes will already have a daily program scheduled for either distance or time base for each discipline - we can offer a number of options for runs and bike routes that will provide fantastic training opportunities and magnificent scenery along the way!

Tri-bike rentals!!!
For any triathletes visiting from overseas or out of state, we have teamed up with a local triathlon store in Loveland who rent tri-bikes! Check out 3xfast - they have Scott Plasma or Guru Crono - an excellent store built around providing a high level of service and stocking only products they recommend.
