Location

Active at Altitude is based between Lyons and Estes Park on the I-36 just north of Boulder, Colorado, USA. The area has been widely acclaimed by a broad range of publications across all types of physical activity. The first thing that will strike you is the scenery. Thomas Jefferson described it very well when he said that “..Colorado bankrupts the English language.” We know exactly what he meant – we had the same feeling when we first visited Colorado back in 1998. This was a large part of the reason we made our home and our business here.

We are 35 minutes away from Boulder, a city that has been labeled as “America's Number One sport's town” by Outside Magazine. Active at Altitude is also ideally located close to the Roosevelt National Forest and the Rocky Mountain National Park, a wildlife wonderland with 415 square miles of stunning natural beauty.

The location provides a base for a wide range of physical activities. There are a multitude of trails for running and walking. There are multi-use trails that are also available to Mountain Bikers. There are miles of great roads fro road biking, including Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous road in the USA that climbs to 12,183 feet above sea level. Snowshoeing and cross country skiing are all available close at hand. The Colorado Front Range and the Continental Divide provides fantastic climbing opportunities from beginner to extremely challenging.
